long weekend so short post…
I just wanted to share this Beirut song. It seems like every time i listen to them i forget how amazing they are ( and are just as amazing live). They are by far one of the most under-rated bands of our time.

Danger- 11h30 (Crash Overdrive Remix)
Danger’s perennial favorite 11h30 has been remixed many times, but it has the distinction of being the only one I like better than the original. The intro suits the song well. It gives those already familiar with the track a hint of the song they know. Keeping the tension high and the beats going, the first segment leads right into the redone refrain. It adds an excellent driving quality layered on top of the original music. The song ends with what seems to be Crash Overdrive’s personal touch, and it makes for a very distinctive outro.

The San Francisco based band Girls recently released their first album this past week, appropriately titled Album. Full of garage/pop tunes which although don’t sound like anything exactly new, that’s the point because it’s just good time rock n’ roll music.
They will be touring around the country starting in November, so if you’re interested check it out at their homepage http://www.matadorrecords.com/girls/.
But if your unfamiliar with this band check out their song Lust For Life (not to be confused with Iggy’s), which is the opener to the album Album.

The band LMFAO Has combined talentless pop hip-hop and mediocre electro beats…and I love every second of it. The Duo released their first single last year “I’m in Miami bitch!”(or, I’m in Miami trick!) and their first full length album “Party Rock” Although their lyrics hit upon the same old clichés of party something about the fusion these genres really tickles my fancy. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/lmfao.
